Partnering with One Child Matters

Why Dominican Republic

More than a third of the Dominican Republic lives on less than $1.25 a day and over 20 percent of the country lives in extreme poverty. Most of the poverty in the Dominican Republic is concentrated in the rural areas. Many children are without the basic needs of food and clean water. Our Missions Partner, One Child Matters, helps meet the physical and spiritual needs of children in poverty-stricken areas. Through One Child Matters children receive food, education, medical aid, and hope in Jesus Christ.

Our Response

We will be partnering with One Child Matters to assist in ministering the children in the community who attend the Child Development Center teaching them hygiene, meeting their basic needs, helping lead worship, praying with the children, and more. One Child Matter's mission is to minister to all of a child’s needs - spiritual, physical, socio-emotional, and mental and this has been proven to be an effective method of promoting child development. Their hope is that by nurturing the needs of the whole child, they are equipping them with the ability to fulfill God’s specific calling on their life. If you're sponsoring a child through One Child Matters in the Dominican Republic, this is a great opportunity to meet your child and see how you're investing in his or her future. This short-term trip is also an excellent trip to serve together as a family.

The Father’s House understands that sponsorship makes a tremendous difference in the life of a child, visit their page to partner with One Child Matters.

Frequently Asked Questions

Missions Trip F.A.Q.

We believe when people engage in service, it leads to life change. Our short-term trips provide opportunities for people to serve together in various locations around the world. Our belief is that as people chose to serve, whether in one of our churches, in the local community, or around the world, the impact of that service will change lives—for those serving, for the people they serve, and even for those that see them choosing to give their time to help someone else.

For those of you who have not gotten involved, we hope this will be the year you choose to begin a lifestyle of service. And to those who are serving, we just want to say thank you. You are the reason the mission is being accomplished.
