Mexico is a third world country with no real form of childcare. Because of the drastic decline of the peso, many families are no longer able to survive on the father’s salary alone. This is forcing mothers into the workforce at a fast pace, and their children in turn become victims. 4 out 5 children live in oprhanages because parents are too poor to care for them. Open Arms' mission is to keep families together by providing them with a safe refuge during the day. Their goal is to keep children out of orphanages and off the streets, and bring them into the loving arms of Jesus Christ. The care and assistance they provide for these families extends beyond their basic wellbeing and encompasses all facets of a productive lifestyle, which includes but is not limited to academic, religious, and life education.
We will be partnering with Open Arms in The Camalu Project helping with their newest childcare center in Camalu, Mexico. Our School of Leadership students will have the opportunity to share Christ's love with the children, youth and community that Open Arms serve.

We believe when people engage in service, it leads to life change. Our short-term trips provide opportunities for people to serve together in various locations around the world. Our belief is that as people chose to serve, whether in one of our churches, in the local community, or around the world, the impact of that service will change lives—for those serving, for the people they serve, and even for those that see them choosing to give their time to help someone else.
For those of you who have not gotten involved, we hope this will be the year you choose to begin a lifestyle of service. And to those who are serving, we just want to say thank you. You are the reason the mission is being accomplished.
