Why Are We Going?
Both of Vapor Ministries’ Kenyan centers, Kawangware and Gichagi, are located in communities that struggle with extreme poverty. The Kawangware slum has a population of over 80,000 people living within a four-square-mile area. Over 65 percent of the adult population in Kawangware have no permanent job and are without access to education (source: The Thunder Foundation). Gichagi is home to almost 20,000 people that battle the same harsh realities as those living in Kawangware. This team will visit and participate in the ongoing ministry at both centers. 

One of Vapor ministries’ main focuses through ministry is to educate the children who participate in the leagues on disease-prevention training, basic medical assistance, and other forms of humanitarian aid. The poorest children at the centers receive their education and support through Hasmin’s Friends, Vapor Ministries' child sponsorship program.

Our Response
Our team of leaders will gain firsthand insight into the challenges of a third-world environment while actively contributing to meaningful and effective solutions for a global crisis. By engaging with the vision of our Global Reach partner, Vapor Ministries, we aim to inspire these leaders to pave the way for many future teams from TFH to follow.
