There are a few ways to choose the right trip for you. If this is your first impact trip with TFH, we recommend starting with a Mexico or LA Dream Center trip before stepping into more demanding international opportunities. We’ve found people often have the most meaningful experience when they can use their gifts, skills, and past experiences. You might also consider timing or an area of the world you feel drawn to.
Ultimately, the best course of action is to pray and seek God’s direction and confirmation as you consider this opportunity.
Participation in an Impact Trip requires active involvement at one of our TFH campuses. Because these trips include intentional preparation, team meetings, and spiritual formation leading up to departure, being connected to a local campus allows you to fully engage in the process, build community with your team, and be supported every step of the way.
We welcome youth ages 13 and up to participate in Impact Trips. All minors are required to complete an application as part of the approval process for trip participation.
Each trip has its own specific requirements for applicants, and we intentionally place participants based on how well they align with the needs of the trip. This may include certain skill sets, experience, or areas of strength. Please note that we often receive more applications than available spots, and unfortunately, we are not always able to accept every applicant due to limited capacity. Additionally, applicants must be regular attendees at one of our TFH campuses to be eligible for consideration.
Submitting your application does not mean you are committing to the trip. Once applications have been reviewed and teams are selected, a trip leader will reach out to you directly. At that point, you will have the opportunity to confirm your participation and officially commit to the trip.
You will know we’ve received your application once you receive a confirmation email after submitting it through our trip platform, GO Method. This email serves as confirmation that TFH Global Reach has successfully received your application.
Donations made toward trips or participants are given to TFH Global Reach as a ministry, not to an individual. In the event that the specific participant you are supporting is unable to attend the trip, your donation will still be applied toward that designated trip under TFH Global Reach. Funds will continue to be used for their intended purpose, including sending participants to the mission field, covering trip expenses, and supporting ministry efforts to serve others with the love of Christ. Please note that all donations, including deposits, are NON-REFUNDABLE.
You and your team will raise the funds needed for your trip by inviting others to partner with you financially. We’ve found that many people are unable to go on a short-term Impact Trip themselves but still want to be involved in what God is doing. Because of that, each participant is asked to raise support by sharing their personal support link and/or writing letters to friends and family explaining the purpose of the trip and the financial need. Every year, hundreds of participants successfully raise the funds needed as their supporters’ partner with them to make Impact Trips possible.
Apply for a passport as soon as possible if you do not already have one. Processing can take 8–10 weeks, so it’s important to start the process early, even if you are still deciding on an Impact Trip.
Once you receive your passport, update your GO Method profile with your passport number and upload a copy of your passport. In accordance with international airline requirements, we also need your passport expiration date for booking travel, so please acquire this information as soon as possible.
If your passport expires within six months of your departure date, you will need to renew it prior to travel. Additionally, if you hold a non-U.S. passport, it is your responsibility to determine whether a visa is required for your destination country.
No. For reasons of team unity, safety, and liability, all trip participants are required to travel together and may not extend their stay or travel to other destinations separately.
