WHY THE DREAM CENTER?
Since 1994, the Dream Center has been a beacon of hope to thousands of lives in Los Angeles. Through the various programs available, the Dream Center serves 40,000 people a month. Their mission is to connect broken people to a community of support by providing free resources and services that address short and long-term needs in the areas of homelessness, hunger, poverty, prison, addiction, and abuse. Dream Center reaches thousands of people in need multiple times every week through their mobile food banks and community relationship-building program, Adopt A Block. Transitional housing programs are available to those who are looking to make significant changes in their lives to heal from past trauma, fight and overcome addictions or other life-controlling issues like homelessness, and develop the life skills to transition back into society successfully with a renewed sense of purpose, and a healthy mind, body, and spirit. Their resource programs support and mobilize their outreach and residential programs which includes an onsite food bank that on average, distributes over 5 million pounds of food a year.
OUR RESPONSE
By partnering with the Dream Center, we will have an opportunity to come alongside what they are doing and make a long-lasting impact both practically and spiritually in the city of Los Angeles. As a part of this team, you will get to serve in multiple of their ministries throughout the week that include: Adopt A Block, DC Construction, the Discipleship Program, DC Food Bank, Food Trucks, Kids Jam Outreach, Foster Care Intervention, Clothing Outreach, and more!
