Great marriages don’t just happen! An important part of having a great marriage is preparation. TFH Pre-Marriage Mentoring is designed to help prepare engaged couples for strong, lasting marriages based on biblical principles.
Engaged couples will be paired a with a group of other engaged couples and a trained mentor couple in a small group setting for 8 mentoring sessions. A structured curriculum provides excellent preparation in areas key to a successful marriage: communication, conflict resolution, finances, love styles and intimacy. The curriculum we use is Saving Your Marriage Before It Starts (SYMBIS) by Drs. Les and Leslie Parrott.
The mission of the TFH pre-marriage mentoring ministry is to lead people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ by building strong marriages based on biblical principles. Because the role of the pre-marriage mentor is full of opportunities for influence in the couples’ lives, we are intentional about selecting spiritually mature, emotionally and relationally healthy couples.
We encourage every married couple to attend at least one marriage small group a year. No matter how long you've been married, or whether your marriage is doing well or struggling, a marriage small group can help you build a stronger relationship and bring healing to a broken one. Life, growth, and healing happen in small groups, and it's also a great way to meet other married couples! To find a marriage small group, visit the Small Groups section of the The Father's House website: Small Groups
If you need one-on-one attention given to your marriage, we have counselors who will meet with you. These are volunteer counselors who have a heart for marriage and a skill set to help you look at your marriage and get you going on the right path to restoration. To apply for counseling, please download and complete the counseling application below. Submission instructions are at the end of the form.
Intimate Encounters offers practical help to make good marriages even better and brings hope and healing for troubled relationships. Through our relationship with Christ and biblical insight, this curriculum provides practical tools couples need to experience freedom from painful emotions, unhealthy thinking and self-defeating behaviors in order to give and receive care and improve spiritual, emotional and physical intimacy within their marriage.
Groups are starting throughout the entire year and meet bi-weekly for 10 months. Contact us to find a group near you.
